I started my first job in Malaysia as a college lecturer after returning from the USA. I love teaching and I love to see how I could help the students do better. I remember sharing with my colleagues at that time that I was going to have my own college someday and they laughed at me for being silly. 10 years later I acquired a college and built it as PORTMAN College. We continue to make a difference by making lives better. I am grateful. 🙏
The last 10 years building a college was extremely challenging yet extremely rewarding to see the lives that we have help transformed from little kampung boys and girls to become young professionals and entrepreneurs with good character. I decided to take it further and set a target to have our own international school. Someone told me that it is impossible. 10 years later, we will now be having our own PORTMAN International School.
I acquired an international school and rebranded it as PORTMAN International School. We continue to make a difference by making lives better. I am grateful. 🙏
In the next 2 years we will no longer need 10 year cycles as we will be on our exponential growth trajectory with this amazing times ahead. And yes we are still targeting for a RM1Billion IPO. If you have to see to believe then everyone else can too. But if you believe, work very hard, smart and extremely fast and just refuse to give up amazing happens.
Dreams do come true. So the question is how do we make dreams come true? I don’t know about you but I have my own formula and it has worked for me. Thank you again for the opportunity to make a difference by making lives better. I am grateful. 🙏

A person who started off in education and continues to be a part of the education business today. He's been my teacher since 10 years ago and still guides and educates me in all aspects of life. A person who never gives up on his passion for educating and doing good for humanity. He is my Sifu - Ernie Chen.
In 10 years, many things have changed, but Mr. Ernie's passion and vision have not change. I have learned so much from him, and my transformation and success today are a testament to his skill as an educator. Many things have changed in 10 years, But I am still with Mr. Ernie and still working towards making education better for all.
Recently, I had a gathering with my secondary school friends after 10 years. They were surprised that I was still with PORTMAN College and still pursuing my passion for education. They have all grown up and now appreciate what they used to miss out on. They even appreciate what PORTMAN Education Group is doing now and wish us the best in achieving our vision.
When people ask me why I'm still with PORTMAN College, my answer is simple: This is the place where I have grown and continue to grow. I am grateful to be a part of PORTMAN Education Group and proud to be a PORTMANian.

Mr. Ernie asked me this question 6 Years ago when we were still in the Heritage “Shop lot” campus and of course my answer was YES. Then 1 year later, I’ve been appointed as Head of Academy to run the show.
The journey was not easy, it’s tough with a lot of tears…… real tears…. But you know what?! We still managed to survive through the pandemic and now growing exponentially and continue to provide Quality Education for our students. 🙏
