The Setapak Kopi Experience

I used to wonder why so many people have such a connection with Starbucks Coffee. The answer came to me one day while I was having a cup of coffee at a kopitiam in Setapak. Although it obviously was nothing like Starbucks, the experience was just as nice if not even more special because it’s the only one of its kind.

There are virtually countless Starbucks outlets around the globe to serve the multitudes who love the concoctions sold there. However if you have been reading, you’ll also know that Starbucks has frapp├ęd itself by multiplying and duplicating at warp speed.

To date, Starbucks has closed down 600 stores, laid off 13,000 people and has reported that it will put on hold 40,000 new stores. Would you like whipped cream with that?

There is so much sense of humour with your post "Setapak Coffee".

However, the reality that you try to convey is so depressing!!! This credit crunch crisis is more devastating than I thought it is.

Dear Anonymous (Nov 22)

Things are depressing in the world and Citigroup just got bailed out by the US Govt. with 20 Billion after an earlier 25 Billion. Thins do not look good but we can still do well if we just focus and work hard.

To the coffee lovers, they go Starbucks Coffee for coffee. However who are not really the coffee lover, they go there because of the environment and influence by others people. They think drink coffee at Starbucks is a cool thing. When economy crisis, I believe people will move to "Setapak Coffee".
