Mr. Empowerment or Mr. Ichickenout ...........

This reminds me of a story of easier said than done. It s really easy to provide ideas and suggestions and think that we know the answers to problems. But when it comes to the real deal of having to come face to face with our real challenges, it is always easier to take the easy way out – We Run. Life is full of challenges and that is what keeps us alive. The next time when we ask for empowerment, please make sure we really want to be empowered before we frightened ourselves from what we are happy doing before being empowered as it can really cause a lot of unnecessary work for others. Again, easier said than done.

Empowerment is the idea of power.Depends on two things. First, empowerment requires that power can change. If power cannot change, if it is inherent in positions or people, then empowerment is not possible, nor is empowerment conceivable in any meaningful way. In other words, if power can change, then empowerment is possible. Second, the concept of empowerment depends upon the idea that power can expand. This second point reflects our common experiences of power rather than how we think about power.

Being tolerance in each other weaknesses without ill-feeling will be a great achievement in handling challenges and empowerment.

I agree its a tricky situation. Yes empowerment is indeed the buzzword at this point of time. I think the balancing point to handling and giving empowerment comes from knowing who you really are. what is the level of empowerment you seek and more importantly want. The thing is, most of us want things that everyone want, not knowing that we are all different and it is ok to not want what everyone around u wants. My opinion is tht being empowered is not about having power over people but having control over your own self, knowing yourself and leading yourself.

empowerment is something that most people like to turn away from or always asking for more but the real facts is that once given they will say 'what the hell i get myself into'

Empowerment is not an easy thing to handle, those that are empowered to do something is required to show results. Are you up for it??

EMPOWERMENT only works with Individuals with HIGH Competency, HIGH Character, HIGH Commitment and HIGH Integrity. If you don't have all this, you’re not gonna be Mr. Empowerment...you will definitely be Mr. Chickenout.

MS said...

The more empowerment you want, the more responsibility and result you have to deliver. Be ready for it if you want more empowerment.

NM said...

easy to say rather then doing it,responsible on what you have commit and do it, not just say it and doing nothing.

Shahrill said...

Don't say what you cannot deliver...
because it is easier to say than to deliver what you says...
Think before you says...and be the man of your own words...

"Power can be taken, but not given. The process of the taking is empowerment in itself." --Gloria Steinem

Think of empowerment, instead, as the process of an individual enabling himself to take action and control work and decision making in autonomous ways. Empowerment comes from the individual itself.

well...as joshSAN said; great power comes great responsibility. which is true. but in real life, we have responsibilities and powers. to manage powers and responsibilities, is, ARE another thing.

We must become the change we want to see.Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing to do in the world. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.

Well said. Absolutely agree......

Agree with this post about “empowerment”. I have learned and again still learning to face real challenges no matter in work wise, family, relationship and so on. If we easily choose the easy way out we will then keep running nowhere.

Many people easy to say but no action,so they are failed.

we want become sucessful when we are easy to say and also take action.

Empowerment is the process of increasing the capacity of individuals or groups to make choices and to transform those choices into desired actions and outcomes (result).

Easy to say but when want to implement it always take easier way out-RUN...

before empowerment could work at workplace, one must understand the fundamentals of any business.. otherwise it will always be 'easy way out' rather than empowerment!

As long as you keep on running, you will always be running for the erest of your life. Be accountable for what you do and say, and take responsibility.

Don't just easy say but we need to take action. Without take action then we won't be succesfull.

Action speaks louder than words. Don't speak words that you can't act on. And act on words that you have promised.

Always delivery result and not just say it...

Not everyone is ready to be empowered. The responsibility and accountability is at a different level. Not everyone can or want to heck with it.
