Tough Times or Better Times Ahead?

Will we Survive, Thrive or be part of History together with many education institutions & businesses that have collapsed?

The Bad:

The Pandemic is Way Out of Control and I am sure you all know it. This has created a lot of problems for businesses including ours for the past 1 year 3 months. If we are to depend and rely on just our college and academy student intakes for income alone, we would already shut down. Students SPM results are not out since last year, parents are not comfortable sending their children for physical studies on campus and it sure does not help that students do not like to learn online.

The Good:

Since last year we have worked very hard round the clock to generate new income sources with adults learning & corporate training from various sectors that include government, private and also consumer. We have not stopped and we continue to do so both offline when we can conduct and online continuously. We have also worked on new products to be marketed online since the pandemic started.

Till today, we are blessed and proud to say that we have been able to pay salaries in full for everyone together with your EPF and taxes for everyone for the past 1 year 3 months. Will we be able to do so moving forward if this MCO persists?

So the question you need to ask yourself is this. What are you doing now to ensure that we as an organisation can pull through not just to survive but to thrive in such a situation? What can you contribute in addition to what you have been doing to help the team do better? Or do nothing more and wait for your time to be up? Think and decide how else you can help contribute better as we know the survival of the fittest will not just survive but thrive as we have plans for an awesome 2022 ahead. You decide.

Crisis is the time for organizations to showcase the strength and persistence to move forward strategically and capitalize on the emerging trends in the market and what the other organizations are failing to do. Crisis creates opportunities and only those who can capitalize on the opportunities will prevail and stand out. It is significant to reach out, be observant, critical and results-driven so that we will continue to emerge victorious in this very challenging time. Undeniably, everyone has a significant part to play in ensuring results are assured for every effort taken and all strategies adopted, failing which the entire organization will be impacted. We shall remain focus on the mechanism for growth and success creating the milestone of success as we take our steps towards fulfilling the company’s vision and mission.

Agreed. Situation has taken a toll on everyone. Like has been said widely, tough times do not last but tough people do. That's the spirit we need to move on with life.

That is correct. Yes, indeed. The pandemic is having significant consequences on businesses around the country. Companies were already experiencing the bad consequences of the crisis, and the condition has definitely had an impact on everyone. Dark years, as has been commonly stated, don't last very, however strong people endure. That seems to be the energy we require to progress on in living.

Agreed. Today, the world is facing the coronavirus crisis, a pandemic that has changed life for millions of people. However, every challenge is an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve. While never easy, facing and embracing adversity can lead to success, and making us stronger.

This pandemic taught us to become strong, stay back for each other. No matter what, we keep trying to stand, sustain and make it as a new norms for us. Especially for SMEs , I believe we are strong when together. Always try to find the way to ensure that, everyone can survive in this crisis.

For those who can survive in the crisis is King. If you did not make changes throughout last year's experience, you would not able to bear the harm of the epidemic in the near future or choose to end it.

We must have progress, constantly improve ourselves, and constantly make timely adjustments as the market changes... This is what we should do!

Team means all for one and one for all, everyone has their reasons for existence! Only unite can make things happen!

People cannot control the coronavirus, but people can change their mind set and enhance themselves. We should learn from the experience from last year, everything need to have a plan B. Dare to learn new things, knowledge is no burden, is a weapon to help you in survive.

Pandemic has thought me how to survive. It is very challenging for moms like me to WFH. We have to make sure everyone is served in every way daily on time and at the same time to make sure our daily work task is completed in time.

I learn to handle the stress and at the same time making sure my responsibility towards the company is completed in time. Being more proactive on how to manage the task and day. Constantly looking out for new processes for my department to adapt for more effective and efficient results. Never wait for things to happen, making sure I take the first step to make sure we are on the right track of daily goals and success.

Yes,the severity of the COVID-19 impact on business is unprecedented. Weak economic and financial results, demand cut-backs, supply chain disruptions and knock-on effects of troubled sectors on employment are challenging most economies, including Malaysia’s. The start of the journey towards economic recovery is contingent on rebuilding trust and confidence in the public and business realms and the deliberate intervention of the Government. Businesses need to work hand-in-hand with the Government to resume operations and kick-start economic activities. Meanwhile, the increasing need for higher technology capabilities to connect businesses, customers and supply networks is fast-tracking the world into digitalization.
What do companies need? First, Financial relief is paramount, as businesses both large and small take steps to maintain cash flow and operations. Next recurring “needs” themes among businesses including loan relief, tax reduction and grant assistance. Most important is return to normalcy, including the removal of MCO restrictions, is key to achieving a quick recovery and restoring business confidence and growth.

Tough times, see how people sustain and move forward to make sure the organisation can survive in this crisis.

Better times, leverage in this period to strike on what others did not do. We just need to focus and do it.

Again, do not lose focus on what we have plan. It just take longer time and different path to achieve it. Let’s do it together.

Indeed, we are doing better than many out there. Company did not retrench anyone and everyone is receiving full salary during this difficult time. It is really not easy. Everyone just need to work together, to retain the current revenue source (student number) and to support in generating cash. Company will pull through!

We can't control the environment, but we can control our mind, body and soul to work better now in order to survive and have a better future.

There is no tomorrow if we not work on it today.
Not easy, but can be done.

Ye Mr Ernie, for the past 1 year and 3 months, we overcome the hard part, we manage to sustain and thrive until today. It's all thank to your guidance and hard work.

The team also play a critical rule in this situation thus, we will continue to work harder than before. Alone we are strong but together we are stronger.

Agreed, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a sudden shift in the dynamics of workforce behaviour. More and more companies are bound to rush towards work from home arrangements in a short period. Of course, is not always so easy to do and it takes a conscious effort. During these challenging times, we need to keep an eye on our mental health and reaching out and supporting each other is the best way for us to get through this. Always remind yourself that this situation won't last forever, you're not alone, we're all in this together.

Ya.

We can't change the situation that we are in right now. But we can change our action, our mindset towards the situation.

We should be appreciate that we still have a job while many out there are still suffering and at the same time we should be extraordinary to do more and figure out different ways to generate income.

Talk is cheap, action is good, results build trust. 😉

If we are telling our story to anyone, to them we are like a legend.

A college with close to 30 employee with no intake no new students. Having 2 big campuses with around 60+ students.

Don't talk about growing. Just surviving for 6 months alone is already a mission impossible.

And we are still here after 14 months. No denied Mr. Ernie's way of managing the finance, people and work are very effective. Can tell by just we are having salary for all to collect every month.

Everyone puts some extra efforts and contributions really helped a lot for the organisation to survive.

And now we are not just talking about surviving. We wanted to thrive in a big way this year.

With that, we needs Everyone's efforts, time & energy to do it and make it happen together.

If we can pull through this, this will be a very meaningful to all of you. Because we have a very wonderful rewards are waiting for us to get there.

Really appreciate what we have now while some of them outside are suffering with no job and salary to pay their expenses. This pandemic really hit many people's life but we also have to learn to do something for ourselves and help company in order to fight and survive this tough times together. Not easy to do but willing to learn and willing to do is our decision to make it happen.

Indeed. Times are full of uncertainties that it forces us to worry about now and not for the future. Staying positive and moving forwards with straight thinking and anticipating the good should be the only aim to keep everyone sane. Despite the hardship and hurdles, it only shows that we are laying the groundwork for something bigger and better.

Every good momentum leads us to better days and we are buying time to hit our jackpot!!!

WE ARE JUST ONE DAY AWAY!

Yes. Agree with that. This pandemic will let us be more stronger. I had called much of parents but get rejected with the reason of this pandemic. They will not let their children to study first. However, never give up once the result haven't get it. I trust that can get some attracted if we didn't give up to let them know more us within this pandemic. The result will show out at the last moment.
