The traditional education model, where growth is measured by the increase in student numbers and campus branches, worked well in the past.
However, with inflation, rising rental costs, and increasing oil prices, large education campuses may find it more difficult to remain sustainable as the market continues to shift towards online learning.
That is why I am proud to be part of the PORTMAN journey. We are building the right foundation by following a clear business direction: first, creating real value that builds parents’ trust and improves student outcomes. This then leads to stronger revenue and a more stable revenue floor. After that, we reduce unnecessary costs and eliminate wastage to achieve better operational stability.
While we are downsizing campuses to reduce unnecessary rental costs, we are also expanding our infrastructure through online student growth.
As a Marketing Executive at PORTMAN College, I fully agree with the goal of turning education into a more scalable ecosystem while reducing operational friction.
With the use of our AI Tutor to support students’ learning, we can focus more on student value instead of being held back by operational costs such as rental expenses.
Our students are also responding positively to the AI Tutor concept. Based on our results, online diploma sign-ups have increased significantly compared to offline sign-ups.
